The workshop
In recent years, Artificial Intelligence has entered the work of architects with force, often in a fragmented way: tools tried individually, spectacular results but difficult to make repeatable, processes that remain separate from daily studio work.
This training experience moves away from generic workshops on the market and proposes itself as a true design laboratory, designed to bridge this gap. The goal is to provide a critical and operational reading of AI, capable of going beyond initial enthusiasm and translating into concrete, conscious, and sustainable practices over time.
Who is it for
Architects and designers active in practice
Medium-small studios and competition teams
Those just starting with AI
Those who already use it, but without a design method
A Workshop on a real case
During the workshop, we work on a concrete case study, shared by all participants. The project becomes the testing ground for:
Building and questioning the concept
Working on images, models, and narrative
Integrating AI into workflows and decisions
Comparing approaches, tools, and results
The goal is not to arrive at a 'finished' output, but to make the process explicit.
The two axes of the workshop
Representation as a design tool
- Controlled use of AI for design exploration
- Building reusable visual systems
- Continuous relationship between model, image, and narrative
- Representation as decision support
Process, studio, and models
- Project management support
- Documentation management and production
- Testing and validation of feasibility studies
- Support for interpretation and verification of building regulations and technical standards
What you will learn
Operational clarity
Understand when AI is relevant in the design process and recognize when it is not useful to use it.
A transferable method
Acquire a structured approach to integrate AI in different work phases, replicable beyond the single exercise.
A shared vocabulary
Develop a greater ability to discuss the use of AI within the team with common criteria.
Instructors
Riccardo Piazzai
Architect and Project Manager @ BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group
Works in complex international contexts where AI is already integrated into project, coordination, and management flows. Brings to the masterclass a strategic and operational point of view, based on direct experience within one of the leading contemporary architecture studios.
Luciana Mastrolia
Architect and PhD in Architecture
Deals with artificial intelligence applied to design, with research and consulting work focused on studio processes, critical use of tools, and organizational implications of AI.
A group, not a course

Information on costs, program, and content will not be public right away: we are building a small and coherent group, where value lies not only in the content, but also in the exchange between people working on similar problems.
